NLC Limited secures second (2nd) commercial Coal Mine in Odisha

NLC Limited, a leading India government-owned lignite mining and power generating company, has emerged as successful bidder for Machhakata (Revised) Coal Mine in Angul District of Odisha subsequent to the commercial coal block E-auction held on February 2, 2024 by Ministry of Coal. The company informs the exchange on Saturday, July 2.

The coal mine block at Machhakata, Odisha, secured by NLC India Limited, has a total coal reserve of approximately 1377 Million Tonnes. It’s designed to operate at a peak rated capacity of 30 Million Tonnes Per Annum. This capacity reflects NLCIL’s significant expansion in coal mining capabilities.

Incorporated in November 1956, NLC Limited is a “Navratna” Government of India Enterprise, under the administrative control of MOC. The company equity shares are listed on BSE Limited and National Stock Exchanges of India Limited. The market cap of the company is INR 36,274 crores as on July 6.
